Singaraja, meaning Lion King, is the second-largest city in Bali and serves as the capital of Buleleng Regency. Located on the northern coast, it was the Dutch colonial capital from 1849 to 1960. The city features tree-lined streets, surviving Dutch colonial buildings, and a charming waterfront area. Notable attractions include Gedong Kirtya, a unique library housing ancient Balinese manuscripts written on lontar palm leaves, and the Royal Palace of Puri Agung Singaraja.
