Jatiluwih Nature Walks

Jatiluwih Nature Walks provide a serene trekking experience through the UNESCO-listed Jatiluwih Rice Terraces, renowned for their expansive and picturesque landscapes. Visitors can explore several marked trails, ranging from short walks of around 1.5 kilometers to longer treks up to 5 kilometers, winding through lush rice fields and offering panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The well-maintained paths allow for an intimate look at the traditional Subak irrigation system, a communal water management practice developed in the 9th century. Along the way, trekkers may encounter local farmers tending to their crops, small temples used for offerings to the rice goddess Dewi Sri, and various warungs (local eateries) providing refreshments. Embarking on these nature walks early in the morning is recommended to avoid the heat and to witness the terraces bathed in soft, golden sunlight.
