Pura Mengwi (Taman Ayun Temple)

Pura Taman Ayun, translating to Beautiful Garden Temple, was constructed in 1634 by the King of Mengwi, I Gusti Agung Putu. The temple complex is renowned for its expansive gardens, lotus ponds, and multi-tiered meru shrines, symbolizing the sacred Mount Mahameru. Surrounded by a moat, the temple appears to be floating, enhancing its serene ambiance. It serves as a family temple (pura kawiten) to honor the deified ancestors of the Mengwi dynasty and holds significant cultural importance.
